Got my tonsils out...ouch!

Sorry guys, I know it's been a LONG time since I've posted but...I have a good excuse. On Monday, August 16th I got my tonsils out. Let me tell you that was the worst pain I've felt so far. I have never been put under so that was super weird. All I remember is the anesthetist coming into the operating room and me asking him if he had put the anesthesia in yet and he said just a little bit of the first stuff and next thing I know I was waking up in the recovery room crying for my mom and my husband...super strange. The first day or two was ok and I was like oh man this is a piece of cake, I can handle this. WRONG! Day 3 came along and I thought I was going to die. I couldn't eat anything, it hurt so bad to swallow and even talking made me want to cry. Luckily they gave me some liquid hydrocodone for the pain (except that it was lemon flavored so that BURNED going down) and they gave me liquid amoxicillin, ya know the pink stuff we used to take as kids (not as good as I remembered it to be...BLEH) On Thursday I had really bad neck pain and it felt like it was only getting worse. The Dr told me to go into the emergency room cause I might have an infection. I went to the ER and there was no infection but I was super dehydrated so I had to get ANOTHER IV (which is the worst part of any of this) so that I could get some fluids in me. They sent me home and just told me to get neck massages which I'm sure my mom and Trenton LOVED doing...ha right. On Saturday I started feeling pain in my mouth and on my tongue. It was hurting for me to lick a popsicle or to eat or drink anything. I didn't realize till Sunday that I had white bumps all over my tongue and cheeks...thrush. Monday I went to the Dr and he confirmed that I had thrush and gave me some lozenges to suck on to clear it up. I was supposed to go to work on Tuesday but the Dr suggested that I stay home and take it easy so I could continue to take my pain killers and heal. My mom stayed the first week with us but needed to get back to work so I went home with her to Boise and Amy took care of Dallin during the day and Trenton's mom took care of him in the afternoon. I slept pretty much all day. I started feeling better on Friday and was able to start eating real food again. Luckily I only lost a total of 4 pounds over the two weeks. I was scared I would lose alot more and I did not have any weight to lose. I am feeling much better now. It's so nice to be healthy again. Hopefully getting my tonsils out will help with the strep and sore throats I always got. I really hope it was worth it.

Sorry for the long post. There are two more posts below, too. I had to catch up from the last month. I hope you all enjoy the pictures of my sweet baby boy.

I had a hard time waking up

He was so happy to see me out of bed that he just wanted me to pick him up. What a little sweetheart!

Lincoln's 1st Birthday and a family update

Lincoln, our friends Stefanie and Stuart's little boy, just turned 1 on September 1st. We went over to their house and ate cake and watched Lincoln (well actually Stefanie) open his presents. I have to admit he got some pretty cool stuff. They also gave Lincoln his own cake to dig into. It was awesome and I am so excited to get to do that with Dallin. Dallin was excited for Lincoln's cake too. As you can see in the pictures Lincoln was very good at sharing with him. It was so cute to watch the boys play together. Lincoln would be playing with something so Dallin would crawl up and start playing with it then Lincoln would go play with something else and Dallin would follow again. They only pulled eachother's hair and poked eachothers eyes a couple times. I am really looking forward to Dallin's Birthday which happens to be a month from Sunday. I can't believe how old he's getting.

Family update and picture catch up

I took Dallin to the Dr for an ear infection follow up last week and he is now 19 lbs and 28 1/4 inches long. He went through a major growth spurt last month and grew 2 inches in 3 weeks. I am glad he is almost 20 lbs cause that means we can put him in a front facing carseat when he is 1. He has just started standing on his own. It is so cute and makes me so happy to watch him learn something new almost everyday. He is always so happy and makes my day with his amazing smile.

Trenton just started his 3rd year of school yesterday. I am so proud of him. He does so much for our family. He is still working full time. He works four 10 hour days a week and gets to stay home with Dallin on Fridays. I love that they get to spend that time together. Such great bonding moments. Dallin loves his daddy so much!

I just got a new calling which I can't talk about quite yet, but I will post more about it next week. I am super excited though, it will be a good experience. Well that's pretty much all that's going on with our family. Enjoy the pictures!
