Got my tonsils out...ouch!

Sorry guys, I know it's been a LONG time since I've posted but...I have a good excuse. On Monday, August 16th I got my tonsils out. Let me tell you that was the worst pain I've felt so far. I have never been put under so that was super weird. All I remember is the anesthetist coming into the operating room and me asking him if he had put the anesthesia in yet and he said just a little bit of the first stuff and next thing I know I was waking up in the recovery room crying for my mom and my husband...super strange. The first day or two was ok and I was like oh man this is a piece of cake, I can handle this. WRONG! Day 3 came along and I thought I was going to die. I couldn't eat anything, it hurt so bad to swallow and even talking made me want to cry. Luckily they gave me some liquid hydrocodone for the pain (except that it was lemon flavored so that BURNED going down) and they gave me liquid amoxicillin, ya know the pink stuff we used to take as kids (not as good as I remembered it to be...BLEH) On Thursday I had really bad neck pain and it felt like it was only getting worse. The Dr told me to go into the emergency room cause I might have an infection. I went to the ER and there was no infection but I was super dehydrated so I had to get ANOTHER IV (which is the worst part of any of this) so that I could get some fluids in me. They sent me home and just told me to get neck massages which I'm sure my mom and Trenton LOVED doing...ha right. On Saturday I started feeling pain in my mouth and on my tongue. It was hurting for me to lick a popsicle or to eat or drink anything. I didn't realize till Sunday that I had white bumps all over my tongue and cheeks...thrush. Monday I went to the Dr and he confirmed that I had thrush and gave me some lozenges to suck on to clear it up. I was supposed to go to work on Tuesday but the Dr suggested that I stay home and take it easy so I could continue to take my pain killers and heal. My mom stayed the first week with us but needed to get back to work so I went home with her to Boise and Amy took care of Dallin during the day and Trenton's mom took care of him in the afternoon. I slept pretty much all day. I started feeling better on Friday and was able to start eating real food again. Luckily I only lost a total of 4 pounds over the two weeks. I was scared I would lose alot more and I did not have any weight to lose. I am feeling much better now. It's so nice to be healthy again. Hopefully getting my tonsils out will help with the strep and sore throats I always got. I really hope it was worth it.

Sorry for the long post. There are two more posts below, too. I had to catch up from the last month. I hope you all enjoy the pictures of my sweet baby boy.

I had a hard time waking up

He was so happy to see me out of bed that he just wanted me to pick him up. What a little sweetheart!
